Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to get my truck licence?

It depends on your current experience and the package you choose. Most students complete their training and test within 1–2 weeks. We offer flexible scheduling across weekdays and Saturdays.

What’s the difference between HR, HC, and LR?

  • HR (Heavy Rigid) – Large trucks with three or more axles

  • HC (Heavy Combination) – Prime mover with one semi-trailer

  • LR (Light Rigid) – Smaller trucks or buses up to 8 tonnes

We’ll help you choose the right class for your needs.

Do I need experience with crash box/manual gearboxes?

No — we specialise in teaching crash box/manual (Road Ranger) from scratch. Most students who train with us have never used a manual truck gearbox before.

What do I need to bring to my test?

You’ll need:

  • A valid Queensland driver’s licence

  • Booking confirmation

  • Any required paperwork from QLD Transport

We’ll guide you through the process beforehand so nothing’s missed.

Do I need to send a copy of my licence to book?

Yes — we’ll need to run a quick licence check to confirm you're eligible and avoid any issues with QLD Transport's system. Just SMS a photo of your licence to 0400 930 521

Note: If you've recently transferred your licence from another state, QLD Transport may need to manually update your record before a truck test can be booked.

How do I pay?

o secure your booking, full payment is required.

  • A $200 deposit is accepted if needed (conditions apply)

  • Full payment must be received before training or 7 days prior to your test

How much notice do I need to give to cancel or reschedule?

We require at least 7 days’ notice for a refund or reschedule without penalty.

  • Cancellations within 7 days will incur a $200 administration fee

  • Bookings can only be rescheduled twice — after that, QLD Transport may block future attempts and you’ll need to contact them directly
