I highly recommend John and Gold Coast Truck Driving School. He knows his stuff and is a really good instructor for those learning to drive and working towards getting their HR Licence. I was able to achieve learning and obtaining my licence in one day which I thought would be impossible. Thanks heaps John.

Just finished completing my (HR) licence. John took me out for my first ever time driving a truck, and couldn’t have asked for a better instructor/teacher. He never overcomplicated anything and he went above and beyond to make and help me understand the do’s and don’t about driving a truck. He made me feel comfortable and whether you have some experience or ZERO experience I would highly recommend you go through these guys.
John is an experienced instructor who is patient, to the point, direct and able to cover all the little flaws observed and remind me once more as a safe driver (after too many years on the road having some bad hibits developed). To start with, he introduced and explained about how the truck works, the few important buttons, and gave me some easy quiz to help me to remember. John encouraged to ask questions. He's happy to explain when I said I don't understand.The truck is easy to operate, and to my surprise, the turning circle is small. Gear change is progressive and so I had good enough time to check mirrors multiple times without any rush.The exam route was fully covered in my few hours of morning training with John.I came from a car driving licence and my last road test was 23 years ago. I'm happy to have it passed today without making any mistakes. It all only happend in a matter of few hours from 7am to 12pm when the road test was concluded. Thank you John and I'll remember John because he also looks like Robbie William.Cheers.
What a great experience. John was very thorough in his instruction before getting in the truck, taking the time to work through the fundamentals. His instruction was clear and informative and he was passionate about helping you understand more than just what you needed to pass the test. As a result, I went into the test more confidently than I otherwise would have. Would highly recommend!
I’d highly recommend John from Gold Coast truck driving school! I’ve never driven a truck prior to our lessons but John made me feel super comfortable after I eased into it and made it very enjoyable with his witty and dry sense of humour! I’m happy to say I left feeling a lot more confident with all the knowledge I’ve gained from John. Thanks again & I’ll be sure to beep if I see you around 😎
